relaxing with mom and dad

Nina loves to snuggle on the couch and chill out after a long day of socializing and playing:) She really loves to share the blanket and pretend to sleep. The other picture is of her and Nate on a hike in Armstrong Woods. She loves to run through the trees and wanted to climb all of them. She is getting stronger and faster every day!

Happy 2nd birthday!

Nina turned 2 last monday! I can't believe she is already two. Where has the time gone. We had a great time celebrating with friends and family. We are so lucky to be supported by so many wonderful people. What a village we have!

First kite flying adventure and camp host practice

Nina has had a blast having my parents out for a couple of months while they camp hosted at Bodega Bay. It was so nice having them close and getting to hang out for normal, daily life things rather than just 2 weeks at a time. While they were here, Nina learned how to fly a kite with Papa JJ for the first time and really enjoyed talking into the CB. Maybe she plans on going into law enforcement or some other really important job where a two way radio is a necessity.

Family fun at the zoo...

We had a great time with my parents and our friends Jonathon, David and Margot at the SF zoo. The weather was crazy. We arrived in sweatshirts and hats and one hour later we were in short sleeves and slathering on sunscreen. We had sun the whole afternoon. Nina finally started getting over her phobia of farm animals and actually brushed and petted a goat. She even saw a baby quail hatch out of its egg. Here is a pic of Nina in the bamboo and riding a tractor in the petting zoo. It was such a nice day, except when the killer seagulls tried to steal our food. One of the seagulls stole a whole hot dog right out of a lady's hand! It was truly a remake of the The Birds. Nina's favorite thing was getting up close and personal with the lioness. The lion was right up to the glass and Nina went up and kissed her nose. Even though there was at least an inch or two of glass, it was still unnerving to watch.
