Nina standing up and cruising

Nina is now pulling up to stand and cruising. She even stood up by herself for a few seconds the other day with our friend Katie (she now gets the honorable mention in the baby book). Here is Nina with our friend Deana showing off her new standing skills and getting a head massage. She loves Deana's head massages and her jewelry (of course). It won't be long before she walks, then life will get really interesting.

Nina's first swimming lessons

Nina had her first set of swimming lessons the last 2 weeks. The first day she had a death grip on mom but the next day she was fine. Nate and I took turns being with her in the water. By the end, she loved swim time and couldn't wait to get into the pool. She even tolerated going under water a couple of times. We are trying to get her ready for Smith River but we will see if she will want to go in since it is so cold!

Nina with friends

We have been having so much summer fun lately. Here is Nina with our friend Naomi at an event for her church where they recreated Jerusalem. Nina loved the music and all the food at the "market". She was happy to join in any event that involves free food and dancing:) She's a smart kid, no doubt about that one! We also had a blast at 4th of July and Nina learned how to play the kazoo. She loves to scare the heck out of the dog at 8:00Am each morning with her new skill. We look forward to even more summer fun.

Happy Birthday Nina!

Wow! How time flies! Nina is one already:) She is such an amazing and beautiful kid and we feel lucky every day to have her in our lives. Nina's party was such a blast with so many people who came to show their love and support for her and us. We can't begin to describe how special our "village" is. Thank you to everyone who helps us in so many ways. Also, we want to send our love and support to Nina's birthmom as we celebrate this day. She is always in our prayers and hearts. Enjoy the pictures of NIna's cake eating extravaganza. She was very dainty at first then went for it face first. She made her daddy proud!
