Halloween

Nina was a mermaid for Halloween this year. Thanks Grandma Pat for the great costume. She looked so cute and loved Trick or Treating. Getting her to stop asking for candy has been quite a trick.

relaxing with mom and dad

Nina loves to snuggle on the couch and chill out after a long day of socializing and playing:) She really loves to share the blanket and pretend to sleep. The other picture is of her and Nate on a hike in Armstrong Woods. She loves to run through the trees and wanted to climb all of them. She is getting stronger and faster every day!

Happy 2nd birthday!

Nina turned 2 last monday! I can't believe she is already two. Where has the time gone. We had a great time celebrating with friends and family. We are so lucky to be supported by so many wonderful people. What a village we have!

First kite flying adventure and camp host practice

Nina has had a blast having my parents out for a couple of months while they camp hosted at Bodega Bay. It was so nice having them close and getting to hang out for normal, daily life things rather than just 2 weeks at a time. While they were here, Nina learned how to fly a kite with Papa JJ for the first time and really enjoyed talking into the CB. Maybe she plans on going into law enforcement or some other really important job where a two way radio is a necessity.

Family fun at the zoo...

We had a great time with my parents and our friends Jonathon, David and Margot at the SF zoo. The weather was crazy. We arrived in sweatshirts and hats and one hour later we were in short sleeves and slathering on sunscreen. We had sun the whole afternoon. Nina finally started getting over her phobia of farm animals and actually brushed and petted a goat. She even saw a baby quail hatch out of its egg. Here is a pic of Nina in the bamboo and riding a tractor in the petting zoo. It was such a nice day, except when the killer seagulls tried to steal our food. One of the seagulls stole a whole hot dog right out of a lady's hand! It was truly a remake of the The Birds. Nina's favorite thing was getting up close and personal with the lioness. The lion was right up to the glass and Nina went up and kissed her nose. Even though there was at least an inch or two of glass, it was still unnerving to watch.

Egg Hunt!

Yesterday, we had a blast at our first annual mom and baby egg hunt. Thanks to Dailey for a great party. The kids loved finding eggs in the orchard at Dailey's house and eating delicious cupcakes afterwards. Nina's favorite part was taking a drink out of the hose. Who needs filtered water? Doesn't get much better than that:)

St. Pattie's party

Here is a picture of Nina, Kristy, Judah and Ruth at our impromptu St. Pattie's Day Party. It started off as a small gathering that we organized that morning and turned into a much larger group. Typical for the Boblitt crowd! Great food, corned beef and cabbage (thanks Brad and Nate) and everything else we could ever want at a St Patrick's Day Celebration. I'm getting hungry thinking about it.

Nana and Gramps come to CA!

We had a great visit with Nana and Gramps. We did so many things...it is hard to remember them all. We took the ferry to SF and hung out at Fisherman's Wharf where Nina rode the carousel (after bribing her with a soft pretzel since she was scared of the horses). We also went to the Academy of Sciences, Traintown, wine tasting, the beach and celebrated St. Patrick's Day with friends and family. My mom and I had a girl's night out with my friend Deana and saw Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Great show! It was a wonderful 2 weeks. Here are a few pics from the visit.

Enjoying sunny days

We managed to get in some fun with Katie, Matt and the kids before the rains came. Here are Nick and Nina and Nate sharing some love during a rare 70 degree january day. We actually had quite a few of them this year. We felt a bit guilty enjoying it with the drought but hey, might as well take advantage of the flip side.

Soul Food Party

We had the best time throwing a Soul Food Party celebration at the end of January. The house was packed and we ate more food than seemed humanly possible. Fried chicken, pulled pork, collard greens, succotash, hush puppies, scalloped potatoes, macaroni and cheese, black eyed peas, banana pudding, bread pudding, pie....I get hungry just thinking about it. Caroline came i her lion outfit (because she can) and scared the heck out of cooper the 4 pound teacup poodle. Everyone had a blast and Naomi got all of us up dancing to Motown hits. So wonderful to have such great friends. Can't wait for the next one.

The strollin' mamas

This is our Tuesday walking tradition...conquering the hills in the neighborhood to work off all the good food that we all had over the weekend. The kids like it too since it usually leads to playtime in the park. Great group of ladies....I am lucky to have such great friends.

Exercise...work that bootie

Nina and Aunty D are getting a workout on the couch. Nina is learning how to do leg stretches and thinks it is very funny. What a cute pic of the two gals, post work-out:) We had a great dinner with Deana and Tom that night. So nice to have our friends also be our neighbors!

Nina's boyfriend

Nina and Nick are in love...she would not stop watching this video and
cries when they leave each other. Nick always gives Nina hugs and well,
let's just say he doesn't quite understand personal space yet. Here
they are playing jumping bean in Nick's crib. Let's just hope they
don't do this as teenagers! video

Christmas...

We had a great Christmas and Nina got over her first ear infection just in time to fly to Michigan to spend time with Nana and Gramps. We had so much fun at Oma and Pop-pop's house x-mas eve, but had to leave a bit early since Nina was not feeling well. She got a bike and a basketball hoop, both of which she loves and was mad if we had to move onto the next thing. We also had a great time at the great-grandmas' houses on x-mas day. Nina was a ham and loved playing with Huck at Grandma rose's house. It was a big day and she luckily slept the whole fligth to Michigan along with dad. She was wild in the airport before boarding and ran out all her energy. In Michigan, we had so much fun with all of our friends and with Nana and gramps who bought out the used children's store so Nina would have some toys to play with while visiting. Very proud grandparents! Nina also learned important new skills such as the Chicken Dance and went swimming in her onesie since we forgot swimsuits. It was a great trip. She is happy to be back where it is warm. At one point during the trip she said "outside?" over and over and finally brought us shoes, coats and anything else to give a hint. She wasn't so happy once she was finally outside and couldn't put her arms down since she was so bundled up!
